Senior Engineer/Client Manager

So what will you be doing all day?

You would join us in our Houston Office as a Senior Engineer/Client Manager working on things like…

  • Assisting the Office Director to manage and direct the business organization towards its primary objective profit maximization, increased productivity and improvement of corporate culture
  • Help establish goals, policies, objectives and standards for the office and team
  • Ensure that the goals established are maintained through everyday activity with the design and support staff
  • Assist in client relations, employee relations and new business development
  • Oversee the engineering and system design for projects in your department
  • Determine required staffing levels, assist with company standards, training of personnel, evaluating performance of personnel, interviewing of potential employees, and providing leadership and management for the team and company on both the project and administrative levels
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with marketing and client contacts
  • Review operating results of the organization, compare them to the established objectives, and advise the Director on the steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results
  • Attend project meetings to assist in the definition of the scope of work
  • Be responsible for preparing the preliminary fee proposals and contracts
  • Oversee and assist the Project Managers and design staff in the preparation of the system layout, detailed drawings, schematics and specifications
  • Check the engineering calculations and be responsible for the design of the project that is presented to the Director for their final review and seal
  • Manage projects and personnel assigned to the projects, maintain project schedules, coordinate flow of information from client and/or partner to design staff and coordinate project personnel’s efforts with other teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist the Director as primary contact between Henderson and the Client, Owner Architect, etc.

We'd love for you to apply for this position if you…

  • Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering  from an ABET EAC Accredited Program
  • Possess at least 15-20+ years of relevant experience in the MEP markets, specifically with Retail, Healthcare, Light Industrial and/or General Commercial Practices
  • Are licensed as a PE within the United States - THIS IS MANDATORY!
  • Understand the ins and outs of what it takes to run a business
  • Have a passion to grow and develop the employees and the company
