Responsibilities 

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer/Engineer for our Lenexa Headquarters Office.  This individual will provide mechanical (HVAC) system design services on a variety of building projects such as multiple pharmacy studies, large hospital renovations and expansions and convention centers - healthcare experience is preferred but not required.  Specific position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical design and Quality Control on assigned projects
  • Systems knowledge to include airside systems, variable airflow, large AHU's
  • Hydronic knowledge to include chilled water and heating water systems
  • Assist in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, and for renovations and additions to existing facilities
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Provide coordination of project designs with other disciplines
  • Maintain positive client relationships
  • Any experience in Project Management is much desired

Position Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering and at least 3-7 years of related MEP experience; in lieu of a 4 year degree, qualified applicants should possess at least 4 or more years of closely related HVAC design experience within the MEP industry.  This role has the potential to do Project Management or the oppportunity to grow into a PM!  The ideal candidate will also demonstrate success in the following skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of building mechanical codes and the ability to perform accurate load calculations
  • Strong mechanical/HVAC design capability in retail, healthcare, commercial or related markets
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices
  • Successful verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design
