So what will you be doing all day?
You would join us in our Los Angeles, CA Office as a Fire Protection Engineer working on things like…
Traveling to job sites to conduct site surveys, flow tests and review of existing fire protection systems
Assisting in the design of automatic sprinkler systems and other fire protection systems
Performing calculations and design engineering systems
Providing technical information and assistance to project engineer or team leader
Making recommendations as to the feasibility of certain systems or equipment, and evaluate products for their application
Contacting water utility company personnel to coordinate appropriate fire entrance size and location for a project
Checking shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications
Responding to code comments and resolving permit issues with code officials
Assisting in resolving construction conflicts and answering questions from contractors and bidders
Evaluating and specifying plumbing products and their appropriate application on the assigned project
Providing in-field or on-site surveys and inspections and draft subsequent site report
Ensuring the installation of the plumbing system meets the plans and specifications of the original design and the expectations of the client
Completing project "punch-list" and assisting in resolving any conflict between the owner and contractor
Assisting other engineers and designers within other engineering disciplines to successfully integrate multiple disciplines into assigned projects
Traveling domestically 10% of the time — primarily in the Southwest region

Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural, Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET EAC Accredited Program, a technical degree or certification and strong relevant experience may commensurate for bachelor's degree
Have 5-7 years of relevant experience
Have relevant internship or professional experience with a focus on higher education, healthcare, retail, restaurants, grocery, entertainment/recreation, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications, sports facilities, office buildings, and public projects.
Have high proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP applications on similar projects is required
Have knowledge pf Hydracalc or other fire modeling/design software preferred
Have or are willing to obtain your FPE for Nevada, Arizona and/or California
